A native-born Floridian, Glynn Marsh Alam was raised on a farm among the swamps and live oaks near Tallahassee, where she spent humid summers reading mysteries and swimming in creeks where alligators and snakes lurked in the foliage. She has been a decoder/translator for the National Security Agency, a university instructor and an inner-city high school English Literature teacher. She lives in North Florida among the critters, the moss, the deep, clear springs, where she calls upon eel grass and river currents to inspire sinister goings on in her stories. Glynn Marsh Alam has published the novel, River Whispers, four other Luanne Fogarty murder mystery novels, Dive Deep and Deadly, Deep Water Death, Cold Water Corpse, Bilge Water Bones, High Water Hellion, Green Water Ghost, Moon Water Madness (which was the 2009 recipient of the Florida Book Awards Gold Medal for Popular Fiction) and a number of short stories in literary magazines. Avocet Press is proud to
